The Schellville Grill opened on 02/02/02 in the building formerly known as Ford’s Cafe. We serve Austin-style BBQ and Tuscan-influenced wine country fare. We love catering parties, and providing lunches (to go or delivered!) for winery tours!

New in 2014! Sonoma Market butcher Scott Meroney and Painted Hills Ranch Natural Beef will be supplying Chef Matthew with their line of most awesome meats! We’re grillin’ and smokin’ – come on down for an EPIC sandwich!

We us biodegradable and recyclable products to reduce chemicals that might go to into our septic system and into the Sonoma Valley water supply.  

Matthew Nagan, Owner & Chef
Matthew Nagan is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). He moved to Sonoma County in 1988, where he created a line of mustards, salad dressings and burritos. He opened the Schellville Grill in 2002. His constant travels and curiosity to try new things continue to influence the grill’s menu:

In 2008, he spent a summer in Tuscany studying Italian cuisine. While there, he purchased a home in San Gennaro which is available to rent, with optional culinary tours available as well! His regular trips to Italy provide a Tuscan influence to the Grill’s menu.

He graduated from Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy in 2013 and is now serving organic artisan gelato.

In 2013, Matthew traveled to Austin, Texas and fell in love with their roadhouse-style barbeque. Things have been smokin’ at the grill ever since!

In 2014, Matthew will be returning to Italy for an internship with famed Tuscan butcher Dario Cecchini.
